InstructionsTime: A nebulous era called “the Renaissance”.
Place: Somewhere in Europe.
ALL: You are a merry band of minstrels. You are to entertain the mob with a bawdy ditty in order to make enough money to make it to the next town.
SINGER: Somewhat stylized, with little or no vibrato (Remember: you’re not trying to hit the back row at Carnegie Hall; simply loud enough for the people who happen to be close enough to throw cash in your direction. Besides, the recorder players will tar and feather you if you drown them out!)
GUITARIST: Tune the low E string down a whole step to D beforehand. A plectrum should be used. At one point, you will be called upon to whack a tambourine… won’t that be fun!?!?!
